The Economics of Climate Change in the United Republic of Tanzania

The development partners group, with funding from the UK (DFID), have sponsored this initial study on the ‘Economics of Climate Change in the United Republic of Tanzania’. The work is led by the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership, together with the Stockholm Environment Institute, working with other international and local partners. The study has assessed: 1. The impacts and economics costs of climate change in Tanzania; 2. The costs and benefits of adaptation; and 3. The potential for low carbon growth. The study has advanced a number of approaches to investigate these areas, using aggregated analysis (topdown), sector assessment (bottom-up) and case studies, though it is highlighted that given the range of coverage, the study should be seen a scoping study.
